Matmi is in its 16th year of business!
We started our journey in a old textile mill called Adelphi in Bollington in January 2001, Netscape Navigator was the browser of choice and AltaVista was the preferred search engine. We quickly outgrew our premises and moved to Dukes Chambers in Macclesfield where we stayed for nearly ten years.
After many years at Dukes Court we felt that we needed better premises to suit our evolution as a company.
We have now moved to a beautiful old textile mill which still has tenants involved in the textile industry. As Matmi means a type of silk, this seems to be rather fitting. We love the industrial feel of our new premises, big windows and exposed metal beams. The staff are so happy with the move they even ‘made’ me a cake.
Over the years we have seen technology change the world with the rise of the digital revolution. We remember Google as a start up and when Flash was leading the way with digital interactivity, we remember when topping the viral charts meant something and when nobody paid for any content and the web was pretty much free. How things have changed.
We now focus on making magical experiences that bring the physical and digital worlds together.
We don’t just do digital for the sake of it, we would rather use digital to enhance the physical world than replace it. So over the next few months we will be upgrading our premises with some serious digital enhancements.
Once we are settled we will invite a lucky few of you in for a brew.
