Last month Jeff jetted off to Dublin after he was invited to speak at the first ever AR Marketing Conference, held at the Guinness Storehouse.
The conference was designed to prepare creatives, agencies, publishers and brands for the impending launch of Google Glass, connected wearables, and new Augmented Reality platforms that are becoming increasingly popular in the marketing world.
Alongside the likes of Jess Butcher from Blippar and Mathijs Gajentaan from Twnkls, Jeff was in great company! His talk ‘AR: Gamify or Gimmick?’ was a very frank look at these new technologies and how they have the potential to be used in the most groundbreaking ways, but also can be used more for novelty value.
At Matmi we are of course extremely fond of Augmented Reality (see: The Smiler and Heritage Hunter apps) and work with leading brands to create functional yet fun digital solutions, using it wherever possible. But we can also see the line between novelty and necessity is becoming increasingly blurred.
