Whose the Dadi?

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

A big Thank You to The Drum! Matmi won a DADI Award for our 2007 Christmas g-card invention, “Ho Ho Ho Yellow Snow”, in the Best In-house Campaign or Website category at the award ceremony in Leeds last night.

What’s a g-card? A game and an e-mail card that you can customise with your own greeting – and since it’s been in the worldwide viral game chart all year and attracted over 10 million players, it seems Matmi has invented another digital first. But the best thing is that it’s our clients who will benefit the most; you know who to call.

Winning a DADI was fantastic, but the evening turned out to be memorable for a number of other reasons:

· Have you ever been asked “Are you the pi**ing Santa?” …. I have … and I said “Yes”!!! (Only at Matmi….)

· Do you know someone called Jean Kirkwright? Apparently, she’s from Matmi but we’ve never heard of her. (Useful cover though…)

· What does a white lycra-clad contortionist have to do with Hallowe’en? (Fortunately, things were getting hazy by then…)

· Question for Dave and Gavin at Fudge: How far is Religion from your hotel? 200 yards… but the taxi was great J

· How did a necklace which says “Back from the dead” on it find its way to the floor of our hotel room? It was just how we felt…..

· And finally, although Matmi won one award, we came back with two trophies! Don’t worry, Fudge, it’s safe and our ransom rates are very reasonable J

Thanks to The Drum, the gentlemen at Fudge and camp incorporated at Blue Skies (you’re nuts) for a great night/morning. Do we have to be sober when we meet again? Hope not….
