Football and charity are two things we’re all jumping on board with right now. If you haven’t been watching the Premier League over the last week, you have probably been chucking ice over your head for charity. Well now we’ve brought all of that together for a good cause… Minus the ice!
Men’s cancer awareness charity Blue September approached Publicis Dublin and Matmi to create something to help raise funds and awareness, during their big push in September. But they didn’t want to simply ask people to donate, they wanted to engage people with a fun and challenging game, with the end goal (pun intended) of getting lots of lovely little donations!
The client wanted a game that could be played across all platforms, in order for it to get the widest reach, whether that be mobile, tablet or browser. With all that in mind, we created a HTML5 keepy uppy challenge featuring Irish celebrities Dermot and Bernard. The aim of the game is simple; to tap your screen in order to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. The actual gameplay however remains challenging, with a few curveball’s (do baseball puns count?) such as; multi ball, heavy ball and wind to increase difficulty and keep players on their toes.
Players can also connect to their Facebook page and challenge their friends, with a separate leaderboard for your mates so you can go head to head!
I’m currently struggling to get past a shameful 34, so who can beat that?! Have a go HERE and let us know your score.
